I cant recall any special Christmas, but I do remember helping Mom wrap the gifts. There was lots and lots of them. All wrapped in tissue paper. Sometimes Mom wasn't sure which gift was to go to whom. But she made sure everyone got the same amount. The only one that would upset her was for Mr. Barlow, Uncle Ray,s father who was an honest miser and never gave anything to anyone including Aunt Lil and Uncle Ray. Uncle Ray would give Aunt Lil $500.00 which she would always display. ( I think Aunt Lil had more to do withit than Uncle Ray.) Dad would put on a good show as we all sat around the dining table hoping the next gift was ours. It was really extra special and I felt sorry for my friends who only got two or three gifts.
