Interesting that you where the baby that JFK held. Wow!
I did my hike and made it to 12,200 feet before getting very sick. In hindsight I needed to acclamate my body to higher alltitude for a few days.
Being at sea level on one day and then attempting to go for 14,900 was a little much and most importantly, something a 45 year old man should know better.
